Travel
My first real exposure to travel came in 1971, when I hitchhiked across the United States with my college roommate. During that trip I discovered that traveling took me to places inside and out, where I could learn much about myself, my fellow travelers, and our various worlds. In the decades that followed I’ve trekked across the Pacific, throughout the Americas, Indonesia, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, Borneo, Africa, and Sweden, often in rather remote areas. Among many fundamental lessons I’ve learned is that we are all so remarkably different and at the same time, remarkably alike. Earth is a beautiful home: Its a small world, and a big place.
